R.E.
ROGERS INC. MERGES ITS BUSINESS WITH ROCK-IT CARGO
Los
Angeles, CA. July 5, 2005, Rock-It Cargo USA, Inc.,
a freight logistics company specializing in time-sensitive,
project and events related freight forwarding, announced
today the merger of R.E. Rogers’ assets into
its Fairs & Exhibitions Division. The financial
terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The
merger strengthens the Fairs & Exhibitions division
of Rock-It Cargo, which operates through 11 domestic
and international offices and over 100 worldwide agencies.
Its business base is the live event industry, such
as musical performers, theatrical tours, orchestras
and dance companies, film and television productions,
and has expanded over the years to include trade shows,
and corporate events and industrial plant projects.
“The
completion of this transaction adds another premier
brand name to Rock-It Cargo,” said David C.
Bernstein, Chairman and CEO of Rock-It Cargo. “We
welcome Rogers to the Rock-It Cargo family. This consolidation
is a continuation of Rock-It Cargo’s strategy
of actively seeking talented people and firms in the
logistics community to join Rock-It Cargo. Rock-It
Cargo is currently looking at several additional strategic
acquisitions.”
Rogers
Worldwide was founded in 1983 for the purpose of providing
international shipping and customs brokerage services
to the international exhibition industry. Industry
veteran, Ron Burchett, acquired a controlling interest
in the U.S. operation in 1997 after 12 years managing
the company’s Far East operations. In 2001,
the company re-branded to Rogers Worldwide to highlight
the presence of offices in 14 countries as well as
a worldwide network of more than 40 agents and partners.
“The
merger of our businesses was much anticipated to boost
the overall revenues and operating
efficiencies of Rogers Worldwide. We look forward
to capitalizing on Rock-It Cargo’s vast
network of partners worldwide, as well as our own,
and take Rogers Worldwide to a new level in the exhibition
industry. This merger provides our customers with
access to a vast array of talent and resources. The
combination of our staff with Rock-It’s existing
Fairs & Exhibitions Divisions is a win-win situation
for both Rogers and Rock-It” says Ron Burchett,
President of Rogers Worldwide.
Ron
Burchett will remain the key account manager for the
Rogers business. Most of Rogers’ employees are
expected to integrate with Rock-It Cargo’s staff
and remain servicing their clientele.
The
strong Rogers brand will be maintained and continue
to be market in conjunction with Rock-It Cargo.
"We
are extremely excited about this addition. Rock-It
Cargo’s history in event logistics for the performing
arts industry has proven to be an excellent platform
for our crossover into the Fairs and Exhibitions business.
The Rogers Worldwide brand name and experience in
the trade show field is synonymous to Rock-It's brand
in the entertainment industry. The combined companies
not only provide our customers access to a greater
breadth of services and knowledge, but allow us to
take advantage of numerous synergies and continue
our strategic growth plan." says Michael Rasmussen,
President and COO of Rock-It Cargo USA, Inc.
